OFTD- outfit for the date

Updated: Jun 21, 2021

We all need some inspo every now and then, so I´ve decided to compile some of my fave date night looks! Obvs, the look you go for will depend on what you´ll be doing, but I hope you´ll find something below that might just tickle your fancy (lol it feels soo weird typing that old school phrase ;p).

The white dress...with a twist!:

Who doesn´t love the classic white dress. It´s pretty on its own or jazzed up with some accessories! What more could you want? So perfect for date night! And what better way to subtly put thoughts of a wedding in his mind too...lol no, we need to relax ;p

Why not try grunging up a softer, more feminine white dress with some chunky black details. You can pair your dress with chunky black boots like Doc Martins or a cheaper alternative black ankle boot. Tie a black belt around your waist to compliment the black from the boot and you´re done! I simply LOVE the pearl details in the looks above & below, as they help tie the items together and add a soft, feminine touch if you´re not into full-on grunge.

Latina latina latina:

One of my FAVE cultures EVER would defs be the Spanish culture. From the people to the language to the fashion! Latina fashion oozes sexy, I mean the 💃 emoji is inspired by all things latina for a reason! Try a Latina inspired look by pairing a maxi skirt with a flowy top and some gold hoops!

If you´re going someplace fancy...

If you wanna bring a latina flair to your look without the maxi dress, try incorporating shades of red (red lipstick goes a LONGG way) or tying a head scarf to your head! Nothing hides a bad hair day AND is super fashionable, all in one, like a good head scarf!

Velvet:

Nothing says sexy like velvet or lace. I don´t own a lace dress at present, so I decided to focus on its counterpart, velvet. I got this steal from H&M for only R100 on sale! Its such a gorgeous emerald colour, with a scandalous open back to show off some skin ;p . It is well balanced though, seeing that the front is quite covered up.

What´s fun about a plain colour velvet dress like this, is that it can be paired with a variety of accessories.

Here are a few ways you can style it:

Jeans & tee gone vogue:

Vogue-ing up a tee shirt and jeans combo with some gold accessories and some heels can take this simple combo up a notch! For this look, I prefer gold accessories and a slightly baggier tee (although for this pic (above) I´m wearing a cropped simple white tee for a girly twist). The tees in the mens´ section are such a great fit and quality (often). I love the looser fit, with the slightly longer sleeve, it just reminds me of the 90s and that laid back, effortless girl-next-door vibe.

I used to wear skinny jeans for so long, but like 2 years ago I invested in my first pair of mom jeans and it was a game changer. LOVE the fit and the white washed colour. Below are some ways you can pair your mom jeans with some heels!

If you´re keen on trying a different look, other than a belt, why not try the latest insta trend.. gold chain belts?!

I literally love this look, its such a throwback and is such a gorgeous way to amp up a simple look.

So whatever you´ll be wearing for your next date night, I hope these looks have helped you find some inspo! But also remember to keep it fresh and keep it oozing you, that´s ultimately what its all about - being yourself!
