If you know me, you know that I am a massive tea lover. Yes, like a little old lady, I love a good cuppa tea and an Ouma Rusk and I´m not ashamed of it haha. So much so, that a family friend of mine bought me a 21st birthday gift from Paris solely dedicated to tea. The gift consisted of a gorgeous Darjeeling loose leaf blend from Sri Lanka, a massive mug (which probably holds about a litre of tea NO LIES) and some French macaroons. YUM!
I mean, tea is truly endless and I do believe there is a tea out there for EVERYONE! Apple & Cinnamon, Rooibos & Chai, Green tea & lemon, Ginger root & lemon peal...the list goes on and on and on. In this post I´ll dish out all the tea on some suggested blends to try and more on why you should be a tea-lover too!
Suggested blends from some tea lovers I know:
¨Freshpack Rooibos´ pomegranate & cranberry¨ - Miché Daniels
¨Pure Jasmine¨ - Grant Kantor
¨Ginger!!!¨ - Anastasia Solomons
¨Watermelon rooibos or orange cream¨ - Graciella Lazar
¨Rooibos, forever and always!¨ - Courtney Jane Dykes
¨Earl Grey¨ -Zoe Hofstander
¨Cranberry¨- Saleehah Domingo
Why you should be a tea-lover too:
You will be joining a GLOBAL community ;p:
- Tea is the largest beverage drunk worldwide after water
- ¨87% of Millennials say that they regularly drink tea¨
- ¨When compared to coffee, 3 cups of tea are consumed for every 1 cup of coffee that is consumed.¨
- ¨Around the world, 2 billion people will drink tea every morning.¨
- ITS CALORIE FREE... need I say more?
-Tea is chock full of antioxidants (the lighter the tea i.e. white blends = the more antioxidants have been preserved in the leaf)
- ¨Those who drank four or more cups of green tea daily had a 32 percent reduction in the risk of having a heart attack and lower levels of LDL cholesterol.¨
- Tea with moringa leaves in the blend, helps bones stay strong
- Tea helps strengthen your immune system
Tea caters to every mood:
Detox: rooibos=antioxidant-rich
Feeling sick: ginger=antiviral
Sleepy: camomile or lavender=calming
Sad: green tea = increases serotonin and dopamine levels
Lastly, here´s one last bit of trivia to help show you how truly amazing and so-meant-to-be tea is:
Did you know: tea was first discovered in China, when Emperor Shen Nong was boiling water outside and a leaf from a tree above him accidentally fell into the pot.

Accident/ co-incidence? I don´t think so :)
